ESTABLISHMENTS, TRAINING AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION

  • Resolution of strike action embarked upon by the Labour Union between June  and September, 2007.
  • A sum of N50,000.00 was donated to the National Industrial Safety Council, Oyo State Branch;
  • The Department of Public Administration and Local Government Studies of Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre has been affiliated to the Continuing Education Centre of the Polytechnic, Ibadan.
  • The State Government released a sum of N31million to procure 500 motorcycles which were sold to members of the public at a highly subsidized rate of N48,050.00.
  • Unemployed graduates were trained on Small Agro-Allied Business Ventures in various fields of Agriculture.  Participants were motivated with an interest free loan of N30,000.00.  This cost the State Government N5million.
  • Release of N16million for purchase of starter packs for 2007 and 2008 graduands of the six Skill Acquisition Centres.
  • Provision of 500 jobs in the Telecommunication Industry.  The State Government released a sum of N26million for purchase of 500 orange boxes equipment which were distributed to the unemployed youths at a subsidized rate of N26,000.00.
  • 1,000 unemployed artisans were trained in various vocational courses. This cost the State Government a sum of N37million.
  • A total of 1,492 retirees have collected their retirement benefits and this has cost the State Government a colossal amount of N1,519,969,437.44.
  • A total of N7,205,000.00 was expended on pre-retirement training with 406 beneficiaries.
  • The State Government has assisted over 1,205 students to secure placement for their students Industrial Attachment Programme.
