VISION

I take this as an opportunity in a lifetime to make a difference by contributing meaningfully to the development of Oyo State and to enhance its Pace Setting Status. I would also restore the glory of Oyo State and put smiles on the faces of people through the execution of people oriented programmes in accordance with my belief of governing the state with the fear of God.

13-POINT AGENDA OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF HIS EXCELLENCY, OTUNBA (DR.) CHRISTOPHER ADEBAYO ALAO-AKALA (JP) PSC

1. Good Governance: Ensure good governance anchored on transparency, accountability, equity and active participation of citizenry/inhabitants and fear of God as the guiding principle.

2. Sustainable Environment: Establish clean, functional and aesthetically delightful environment to live and work in.

3. Poverty Alleviation: Empower the inhabitant through acquisition of vocational skills and appropriate financial supports.

4. Industrialization: Create solid industrial base through attraction of core industrial investors.

5. Employment Opportunities: Facilitate the creation of employment opportunities for all, through provision of avenues for self empowerments.

6. Infrastructural Regeneration: Regenerate the social infrastructure and public utilities such as health, education, good road networks, rural integration and transportation facilities.

7. International Trade: Explore the closeness of the state to some countries in the Africa region to enhance international trading activities and commerce through provision of enabling environment for International Investors.

8. Water Supply: Harness the water resources of the State for easy access to clean and portable water.

9. Food for all/ Intensive Agriculture: Intensify agricultural activities and practices to ensure adequate agricultural outputs for internal consumption and exportation, making the state a pace-setter in Agriculture.

10. Partnership: foster and create strong working relationship with various sectors such as the public, private and the rural communities as well as external support agencies to diversify sources of technical and financial resources of the State.

11. Education: Provide qualitative education which will also serve as a medium for provision of appropriate technology for economic, social and industrial development, while brilliant students will be encouraged and adequate assistance rendered to indigent students.

12. Power: To generate enough power for general consumption and enhance industrial growth, thereby providing employment for citizens to engage in small, medium and large scale business concerns.

13. Security: To secure life and property. Maintenance of law and order, thereby creating peaceful and business friendly environment for the state.
