Objectives of the House of Assembly are:

1. To hold debates in which the Government is given the opportunity to explain the justify its policies to the electorate and educate the people on the merits of alternative approaches to leading issues of the day;
2. To preserve the constitutional rights of the individual in his relationship with the administration;
3. To approve measures for raising revenue and control expenditure;
4. To make laws for the good government of the State.
