IBADAN NORTH WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Ibadan North West Local Government was carved out of defunct Ibadan Municipal Government in 1991. The Administrative Headquarter of the Local Government Area is located at Onireke. The Local Government area covers a land area of 59.001 square kilometer with a population density of 2,938 persons per square kilometer. Using a growth rate of 3.2% from 2006 population census, the 2010 estimated population is put at 173,359. Ibadan North West Local Government Area is bounded by Ibadan North, Ido, Ibadan South West and Ibadan South East Local Government Areas.
There are no serious farming activities in the area being an urban area. It is a notable commercial centre in Ibadan Metropolis with Banking and trading activities. And also a seat for processing and manufacturing Industries. Federal and State Institutions like Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Railway Corporation, NIHORT, School of Hygiene, School of Nursing etc are located in the area.
