ITESIWAJU LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Itesiwaju Local Government Area was carved out of former Iseyin Local Government in December 1996 with administrative headquarters located at Out. It covers a landmass of 1,534.193 square kilometer and lies within the savannah of the northern part of Oyo State.
Atisbo Local Government area shares common boundaries with Iwajowa Local Government to the north, Iseyin Local Government to the south, estimated population for the Local Government at 145,920 with a population density of 95 persons per square kilometer.
Farming is the predominant occupation of the people with some engaging in petty trading. They cultivate yam, cassava, maize, beans, fruits like orange, pineapple etc they are locally consumed and few of them are transported to urban cities to market the items. Residents in the area are Yorubas and other diverse ethnic groups from different part of the country who are peace loving and hardworking.
The Local Government area has a lot of potentials in form of mineral resources like bitumen in Oke-Amu, Antimony (Tiro) in komu and tourmaline in Bodu Are. The major principal towns in this Local Government area include Out, Okaka, Komu, Igbojaye, Ipapo, Oke-Amu and Babaode. The following notable interesting tourist centres are located in the Local Government area (i) Awonko Mountain at Igbojaye, Elebiti Mountain at Komu, Opara river at Komu, Omisanda at Ipapo and Lofi mountain at Babaode.
