OGO OLUWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The administrative headquarters of Ogo Oluwa Local Government area is located at Ajaawa and it was created in 1989.

It covers a landmass of 415.951 square kilometer with a population density of 178 persons per square kilometer. Using a growth rate of 3.2% from 2006 population census, the 2010 estimated population of the Local Government Area was estimated to be 73,939. Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area shares boundaries with Ogbomoso Local Government Area to the North, Oriire and Surulere Local Government Area to the southern part. It also shares boundaries with Ogun State.

Dominated by the Yorubas and other resident tribes, the people are of different religious background i.e Christianity, Islamic and Traditional religion.

The Local Government Area is endowed with wide expanse of land suitable for agricultural activities. Majority of the people are predominantly farmers who specialize in the cultivation of both arable and cash crops. The fertile soil in the area enhances the cultivation of fruits of various types.

ACHIEVEMENTS

                                      

Education:

1.      Construction of five (5) units of block of 3 classrooms with Headmaster’s office and Store at the following locations:

          -        Baptist Primary School, Odo-Oba

          -        Primary School, Arogbo

          -        Okoo Primary School, Okoo

          -        Baptist Primary School, Elega

          -        Ayegun Araromi Primary School, Opete.

2.      Construction of 200 pairs of Desks and Benches for Primary Schools.

 

Health:

1.      Construction of Prototype Dispensary at Igbo-Ile Oje.

2.      Renovation of Okoo Health Centre.

3.      Construction of 3 Compartment Public Toilet at Odo-Oba Market.

4.      Renovation of Comfort Station at Odo-Oba Market.

 

Electricity:

1.      Extension of electricity supply to Olorogun and Ajelanwa.

2.      Extension of High Tension, Provision and Installation of 200KVA Transformer at Oke-Oyo Road Ajaawa.

 

Boreholes:

1.      Drilling of 13 Motorized Boreholes in the following locations: Mosunmaje, Ladanu, Alaba Meta, Olugusi, Aba-Isokan, Arogbo, Okansa, Iwo-Ate Isale, Ile-Abu/Tapa, Odo-Oba Market, Orile Oje, Elega and Ibere.

 

Works:

1.      Asphaltic tarring of 1.0Km by 7.0m Ajaawa/Ojutaye Road.

2.      Asphaltic tarring of 1.6Km by 7.5 Otamokun.Elega Road.

3.      Construction of line drain and Asphaltic tarring of 1.0Km by 7.5m Idi-Araba/Okoo Road.

4.      Construction of line drain and Asphaltic tarring of 1.0Km by 7.5m Iwo-Ate Road.

5.      Construction of line drain and Asphaltic tarring of 200m by 7.3m Ojutaye/Osupa Road.

6.      Construction of 1000 linear metre lined drainages Along Idewure Road.

7.      Construction of 1000 linear metre lined drainages Along Iwo-Are Road.

8.      Grading and rehabilitation of 213.8Km length of roads in the Local Government Area.

9.      Construction of 2.4m x 2.4m x 7m single cell culvert at Amule River, Awo River and Egeje River in the Local Government Area.
