OLUYOLE LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The administrative headquarters of Oluyole Local Government Area is located at Idi Ayunre.
The Local Government Area shares boundaries with Ibadan South West and East Local Government Area to the North, Ido Local Government Area to the North West and Ona-Ara Local Government Area to the East. It also shares boundaries with Ogun State to the South.
It covers a land area of 635.384 square kilometers. Using a growth rate of 3.2% from 2006 population census, 2010 estimated population for the Local Government was projected to be 229,951 with a population density of 362 persons per square kilometer. The residents of this area are Yorubas and other tribes of Christianity, Islamic and Traditional religious backgrounds.
The people engage in different economic activities. Soil fertility in the area enhances the cultivation of cassava, maize and some other notable crops. Oil Palm and cocoa are among the cash crops cultivated in the area. Oluyole Local Government is a home for both small, medium and large scale industries. It has the biggest teak forest reserve in the State. Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) lies within the jurisdiction of the Local Government.
