SURULERE LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Surulere Local Government Area was created in 1989 with the administrative headquarters located at Iresaadu. Occupying a land are of 831.912 square kilometer with a population density of 194 persons per square kilometer, the Local Government population was estimated to be 161,150 in 2010 using a growth rate of 3.2 from 2006 census. It shares boundaries with Ogbomoso North and Ogo Oluwa Local Government Areas.

Yorubas and other resident tribes of different religious backgrounds dominate the Local Government area and it blessed with wide expanse of land suitable for agricultural activities especially production of fruits and arable crops.

Chlorination of the existent borehole and deep wells in the local government

 

Traditional Council

Purchase of 13 pathfinder Jeeps for the use of members of traditional council in the local government

 

Poverty Alleviation

Distribution of clothing materials and cash gifts to the widows and the less privileges in the local government

Monthly stipends to over 200 youths in the local government

 

Health

Prompt and regular extensive support to the National and Local Programme on Immunization (NID)

Regular chlorination of both public and private deep wells across the local government

Free hernia operation for over 100 indigenes of the local government

Monthly purchase of drugs and dressings for the use of health institutions

Purchase of 2 solar powered health equipments for our health centre at Iresaadu

Construction of a befitting legislative building at the local government

Purchase of 7 numbers of Toyota Camry cars for the use of the local government
