Oyo State Government through the Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control has called on both private and public developers across the State to always obtain Certificate of Completion for all completed structures before occupying them.
The Director General, Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control, Alh Waheed Gbadamosi, gave the charge to pressmen in his office. According to him, the Certificate of Completion is the last stage of the approval given to developers which is to confirm the compliance of their structures with the requirements stipulated in the approved building plan.
Alh. Gbadamosi stressed that the planning laws of the State requires developers to obtain Certificate of Compliance for every stage of their construction which will show that they have not deviated from the approval given to them. He added that at least a copy of Approved Plan with all approval stamps must always be on site during construction process, otherwise Contravention Notice or Demolition Notice will be served to such property found without these documents on site.
He concluded that failure on the part of developers to obtain the Certificate of Completion before occupying the building will lead to monetary fine by the Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control.
