Ogo-Oluwa Local Government was created on the 3rd of May, 1989 by the then Military regime of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida. The headquarters is situated in Ajaawa, few kilometers away from Ogbomoso. The Local Government shares boundaries in the East with Ejigbo Local Government of Osun State: In the South with Oyo East and Afijio Local Government Areas, in the North with Ogo-Oluwa West Local Council Development Area and in the West with Oriire Local Government Area.

Our Vision

  • To provide immediate governmental services and to the common man at grassroot level.
  • To provide grassroot Political Mobilisation.
  • To initiate and implement Projects so as to complement the activities of the State Government.
  • To make, execute, and adjudicate bye-laws aimed at regulating the activities of inhabitants of the Local Government Area.
  • To provide educational services through the establishment and maintenance of Primary Schools, Nursery and Adult Education within the jurisdiction of the Council Area.
  • To collaborate with the State and Federal Governments in the maintenance of Law and order.
  • To take responsibility for the registration of births, deaths and registration of marriages which occur within the area of the Local Government jurisdiction.
  • To take responsibility for the provision and maintenance of Community and Recreation Centres.
  • To provide information and public enlightenment services.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Ajaawa.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Pontela.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Moleru.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Aba Alaaye.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Owode Elega.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Ayede.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Odo-Oba.
  • Construction of a motorized borehole with a serving and functional Generating Set at Ayegun Keji.
  • Repair of Seven other boreholes that were not functioning across the Council Area.
  • Opening of many feeder roads across the Council Area that have been abandoned for over thirty years.
  • Grading of roads aimed at enhancing movement of farm products to urban centres.
  • Payment of Staff Salaries and Allowances.
  • Asphaltic tarring at Odo-Oba Alawusa Oloye
  • Construction of a 3 block of 3 cllassrooms at Ayede
  • Asphaltic tarring of Idi-\Araba-Okoo Road
  • Construction of a block of 3 classrooms at Olugusi
  • Extension of Electricity from Oguro to Opete and Iwata
  • Asphaltic tarring of Otamokun Elega/Ibere Road
  • Construction of a block of 3 classrooms with office and store.
  • Construction of a block of 3 classrooms with office and store at Arugbo
  • Asphaltic tarring of Lagbedu-Ajaawa 600m x 8.5m road
  • Construction of 20 Open Stalls at Idewure
  • Asphaltic tarring and concrete Work of 800m x 8.4m road
  • Construction of Health Centre at Mowolowo
  • Asphaltic tarring of Ajaawa-Ojutaye road
  • Commissioning of 100 KVA MIKANO Generating Set at the Local Government Complex, Ajaawa.
  • Commissioning of Agric Store
  • Commissioning of Exercise Books
  • Commissioning of Renovated Town Hall Ajaawa

The population of the Council Area according to 2006 Population Census is 126,000.
