Oyo SSG charges Public and Civil Servants to embrace positive changes

The Secretary to Oyo State Government, Mr Olalekan Alli has charge all the Civil and Public Servants in the State to embrace positive changes in their various places of work and disengage from absolute commercial orientation as public servants.

Mr Alli made the disclosure while declaring a two day train the trainers Workshop organized by the Efficiency Unit of the State with the theme “the imperatives of change management in Oyo State Civil Service” held at Oyo State House of Chiefs, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.

He stated that the Oyo State Civil Service is changing drastically with a view to laying a solid foundation for a formidable, strong and reliable public service.

According to the SSG, “The present administration led by the Governor Abiola Ajimobi will continue to demonstrate its commitment to the well articulated restoration, transformation and repositioning agenda to reengineer the entire State which has manifested in the security reengineering, infrastructural rejuvenation, educational reforms, agricultural and Civil Service Reforms.

He noted that change management in the public sector will be able to bring positive impacts on the economy, positive impact on the public service, better prospects for individual public servants, and opportunities to some earning which can be invested in personal development or improving environments and many others.

Earlier in his remarks, the special adviser to the Governor on Efficiency, Dr Issac Ayandele said the efficiency unit of Oyo State Government was created to promote best practices for advancing service deliver and productivity in government MDAs by ensuring that the right things are done at the right time.

He noted that in line with the  mandate  given to the efficiency unit, the unit went round all the 64 MDAs,68 LGAs and LCDAs in the State on efficiency advocacy to all the civil and public service in the state.

He further stated that the purpose of the Workshop was to enable all the Desk Officers enhance their intellectual capacities and to rededicate their absolute commitment and dedication to civil and public service.
