Oyo State Government has redefined her development strategies to inculcate the Social Protection Policy into the State.
The Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi made this known through the Special Adviser on Economic, Planning and Budget, Dr. Isiaka Olayinka Kolawole during the meeting of the steering committee on the Social Protection Policy organized by Oyo State Planning Commission held at Ministry of Finance and Budget Conference Room, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Dr. Isiaka Olayinka Kolawole stated that the State Government is working out strategies to effectively implement the Social Protection Policy which requires meeting up protection policy for the children, women, aged among others.
The Special Adviser also stressed that the effort of the Government toward implementing the Social Protection Policy into the state policy include a sustained implementation of eradication of poverty among the populace.
He later urged the steering committee on Social Protection to imbibe the same level of commitment in their disposition to work adding that they should continuously strive in their collective responsibility to propel Oyo State into an enviable position among comity of States in Nigeria.
In her own remarks, the Permanent Secretary Planning Commission, Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi emphasized that the aim of the meeting is to provide a forum for better understanding and sensitization of the Social Protection Policy and serve as platform for harmonizing strategies and methodologies for the implementation of the Social Protection policy in the State.
In his contribution, the representative of the United Nations Children’s Emergency fund [UNICEF] Dr. Kenneth Ozoemenam, appreciated the Oyo State Government for her cooperation policy with the UNICEF. He also urged the steering committee to imbibe the level of commitment to work to implement the Social Protection Policy into the State.
