MIC Seeks collaboration with Media Officers on News Dissemination

The Director, Management Information Centre, (MIC), Engr. Bisola Adabanija, has solicited for collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, (MICT), as part of efforts to keep Nigerians informed on Oyo State Government activities.

Adabanija made the call when she led officers of the Directorate on a courtesy call to the Ministry, in Ibadan.

She said that going by the mandate of the Ministry and MIC, both shared the responsibility of passing unadulterated information to the public.

According to Mrs. Adabanija, while MIC handles the State Government’s website, where vital State Government information are gotten from, MICT is the information centre that feeds every media house with news on the Oyo State Government activities.

“We appeal to you, our dear colleagues, Information Officers to work with the MIC in the area of information dissemination. We know with your reach and spread, you have been able to disseminate news about Oyo State to the most remote corners of the world.

“You are doing a very great job and we are also happy with the degree of collaboration with MIC”.

“we want more collaborative efforts between Information Officers and MIC.

We seek your support in furtherance of MIC’s focus, which is to foster unity and a well informed populace”, she said

Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Oyedele Oyesola, said that the Ministry had been supporting MIC in its duties, by giving adequate information, through objective and accurate reportage.

 

Oyesola, who spoke through the Director, Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilisation, Oyebusola Adetunji said that the Ministry would keep at its duties, adding that it could not afford to make mistakes in the news content it churns out to Nigerians.

Oyesola said that the Ministry will improve on its collaborative efforts with MIC, appealing to the Agency to ensure that Information Officers get training inside and outside the walls the State Secretariat.
