25 Mar Oyo Govt Urges Residents To Protect Power Facilities
Oyo State Government has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring stable and steady power supply to enhance economic and commercial activities of the people and has called on residents to give adequate protection to power facilities in their domains.
The State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu stated this while inspecting the completed Awe Energy facility at the Rural Community Development Centre in Oyo town, the 132/133/11kva substation also in Oyo town and the ongoing light-up project in Oyo and Ibadan, the State capital.
Barrister Ashamu assured the people of the State that the Seyi Makinde Government was committed to revamping the economic and commercial activities in Oyo State through steady power supply which he said remained the reliable economic backbone anywhere in the world.
He however called on the people to protect the power facilities in their areas to serve the purpose for which they were provided.
“The economic growth of our dear State is on the rise and the present administration has hinged this development on adequate power supply to the people.
“We are working round the clock, with other stakeholders in the power sector to use electricity to promote the economy, using the national power grid and solar system.
“Small scale, medium scale businesses and big industries rely on steady power supply to survive and make profit, we are using this angle to make it possible.”
Barrister Seun Ashamu noted with delight that the campaign promises of the present administration were implemented to the letter calling on people to support Governor Seyi Makinde in his mission to move Oyo State forward.
Barrister Seun Ashamu however assured that Government was working towards ensuring early completion of all on-going power projects in the State.
