Retired Permanent Secretaries Commend Makinde For Creating More Education Zones, Appointments

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has been lauded for creating four additional zones for the State’s Post Primary school education administration in the State.

The new zones which include Kisi, Iseyin, Ibadan II and IV came on stream in the last quarter of 2020 following Governor  Makinde’s approval for their establishment, to join the existing six in the  State post primary school teaching service commission.

Commending the Governor for the initiative, the body of the Forum of Retired  Permanent  Secretaries (Schools’ Administration),  FOPSSA, described the gesture alongside appointment of Permanent Secretaries and Tutors  General for each of the four zones as another ingenious masterstroke by the Makinde administration.

In a letter, signed by the Chairman (FOPSSA), Chief A. A. Adelakun and the Secretary, Rev. Canon D. O. Makinde which was sent to the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, the body said the present administration’s education policies, programmes and actions have started yielding positive results, indicated in the increased enrolment level of students and better performance by students in external examinations.

The retired Principals added that the State Government has done so much towards strengthening and uplifting standards not only in primary, post-primary but also in the higher education sector in the State generally.

The association praised the Governor for  what they called his administration’s benevolence and regard for the welfare of workers and retirees, especially through prompt payment  of their salaries and pensions.

It enjoined all public servants to reciprocate the gesture by improving on their productivity and giving loyal service.

In his response to the letter, the Commissioner appreciated the body of retired Principals for showing gratitude for the positive impacts of the policies of the incumbent Governor on education.

He enjoined them to use the experiences gathered overtime to give advice to the Government and those in positions to implement Government policies in the State.
