Security: Makinde Inaugurates Oyo City Watch, Crime Alert Platform

This evening, Gov. Seyi Makinde relaunched the Oyo State City Watch Project and the Crime Alert Platform to help tackle insecurity in the nooks and crannies of the State.

The Governor in his address while commissioning the expanded and refurbished State Security Control Room located inside the Oyo State Security Trust Fund Office, Onireke, Ibadan made it known that the platform is a sustainable project that will usher in a safer Oyo State.

He added that his administration will continue to give adequate priority to the welfare of security agents in the State.

The Governor also indicated that there has been a thought of scrapping the project during his campaign because of the way the project was being managed while adding that there has been an improvement in the reconfiguration which has saved the State Government about N3.5 million for monthly internet access.

He appreciated the IT team for making it possible to achieve the same feat with no monthly payment from the pocket of the Oyo State Government.

The Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor, who doubles as the Executive Secretary Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSTF), retired Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni, in his remark made it known that the commissioning of the expanded and refurbished Oyo State Security Control Room, City Watch and the unveiling of the State’s Crime Alert platform is a consolidation on the many achievements already recorded in the security sector.
