Breaking: Oyo Postpones Cultural Tourism Festival

The much-awaited Omituntun Cultural-Tourism Festival in Oyo State has been postponed for two weeks.

The reason for the postponement was anchored around logistics and need to make the festival a globally-acceptable project in the history of the State.

The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun disclosed this to journalists on Wednesday in Ibadan, saying the stakeholders, decided on the postponement after keen look at the logistics in place for the event that was supposed to commence on Thursday 1st April, 2021.

Olatubosun promised lovers of Culture and Tourism to be assured of a memorable experience when the week-long programme commence.

“The postponement is regrettable but it is for our good, we saw reasons for this decision, especially based on logistic areas and agreed that the programme be postponed.

“This decision is good for us, the planners and other stakeholders in the project to quickly go back to the drawing board and put some things in place, we appeal to our numerous supporters and lovers of Culture and Tourism that have planned on storming Oyo State and Ibadan in particular for this event to be patient for the two weeks hiatus.”

Preparation for the event had continued till last Monday, when the management of the State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the State Tourism board and board of the Cultural Center, met with the Oyo State chapter of Traditional Worshippers Association, where the latter pledged their support for the programme.
